Cake Smash and Splash photography session is the perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday .

The Smash and Splash session is all about allowing your baby to explore, create a delightful mess, and splash about with sheer joy, all while we capture those priceless moments.

During this session, you have the freedom to choose the style, from the backdrop to the birthday cake (or perhaps donuts, cupcakes, or even fresh fruits), and the entire set of decorations.

You don’t need to worry about a thing – I take care of everything. All you have to do is bring your little one, and I’ll handle the rest.

What to expect?

All baby birthday photo sessions take place in my Scarborough photography studio.

During a 1,5-2h session we create a full family keepsake:

– portraits of the baby on 1-2 backgrounds

– sibling portraits

– mommy&me portrait

– daddy&me portrait

– family portrait

– cake smashing

– milky or bubble bath

Once you’ve booked your session, you will receive a session questionnaire. This helps me understand your preferences, ensuring that every aspect of it is tailored to your needs.

Your baby’s adorable outfits, balloons, full set decorations and a delicious cake will all be provided, leaving you with nothing to worry about.

What to prepare?

Except a birthday baby, other session participants should wear their own outfits. The best will be to wear natural, muted colors without high-contrast patterns to not distract from the little star of the day.

It is also possible to use any of the dresses available in the studio for mums and big sisters.

You are also welcome to bring your own accessories or an outfit for the baby if you already have something special.

We know how unpredictable little ones can be. So, bringing something your child really loves – a favourite toy or snack – can be a handy helper in keeping them engaged and happy during the session.

Who can attend the session?

In a Cake Smash and Splash session, the stars of the show are undoubtedly the birthday baby, their parents and siblings if there are any.

The family photographs are super important. The session is great fun for a birthday baby, but don’t forget it’s a special moment for the whole family. Parents are important for children and every kind of session is a great occasion to have a portrait together.

If you wish grandparents or other loved ones to attend the photo shoot, please discuss it in prior. Due to several reason, such as limited space in the studio, only close relatives (the parents of the baby and siblings) are preferred.

After the session

Approximately 3-5 weeks after the session date, you’ll receive an invitation to visit my studio for the viewing appointment.

At this stage, all your beautifully edited images will be presented to you in the form of a slideshow.

At that moment you’ll have the opportunity to decide on the perfect product package that suits your preferences and needs.

There’s no need to make any commitments either before or during the session.

Investment

A £70 non refundable session fee is required on booking to secure your space , prepare and perform the session.
The fee includes a high quality birthday cake.
The chosen package (£250-490) is due on the day of viewing meeting (after the session, when your gallery is ready).
For your convenience, payment plans are available; details on request.

Please note that the session fee is not included in any of our product packages.
The face to face viewing appointment will be scheduled 3-5 weeks after the session date in the studio.
The gallery always includes a minimum of 20 images.
